“Biofeedback is a process that enables an individual to learn how to change physiological activity for the purposes of improving health and performance. Precise instruments measure physiological activity such as brainwaves, heart function, breathing, muscle activity, and skin temperature. These instruments rapidly and accurately "feed back" information to the user. The presentation of this information - often in conjunction with changes in thinking, emotions, and behavior - supports desired physiological changes. Heart Rate Variability is all about how your heart functions. Heart rate is the number of times the heart beats per minute.

HRV is a measure of the change in timing between successive heartbeats. Having variation in heart rate is not only completely normal but also necessary. Your heart is constantly keeping blood flow at a consistent level, keeping pace with your body's needs.




Mindfulness and biofeedback, specifically heart rate regulation work synergistically to enhance overall well-being. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep breathing, promote relaxation and focus, reducing stress and anxiety. This, in turn, positively influences heart rate patterns, encouraging a more balanced and stable heart rhythm. As individuals become more attuned to their thoughts and feelings through mindfulness, they can better manage their physiological responses. This interplay fosters emotional regulation, enhances resilience, and improves mental clarity. Ultimately, the combination of mindfulness and heart rate regulation leads to greater emotional stability, improved health, and a deeper connection between mind and body.
